About Richmond
Richmond is a Software Engineer Intern at Laisar and in training to create software, applications, network controls and other computer programs.
Richmond helps by providing programming support to the development group, leveraging his analytical and math skills, with the ability to work in teams. He develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and conducts testing of existing software systems and new applications using state of the art software languages and tools. He works within Agile Scrum and Kanban development methodologies, and collaborates with the Technology team to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development. He develops maintainable code that matches specifications, and solutions to specifications that are well defined.
Richmond’s willingness to develop and learn software methodologies and patterns has helped him integrate to the workflow and assist in creating and maintaining relevant documentation in the process.
Richmond is pursuing his Data Science studies. He is a problem solver who loves interpreting data to solve real-world problems. He aims to combine his passion for data science and software development to continue contributing to software that will essentially shape today’s society.
Honors & Awards
Richmond received an award for Best Data analytics Project from the Outsanding Data Analytics Project, Info Challenge 2022, UMD, issued by University of Maryland College of Information Studies in March 2022.
Richmond studied Veo E-Scooter Sidewalk Usage using ArcGis to provide insights on infractions that occurred and proposed sound solutions based on geojson data.
